Kinetic aims to reclaim its prominence in India’s scooter market, this time focusing on electric scooters to drive mainstream adoption.
Kinetic Green has outlined its plans to launch three electric scooters in India over the next 18 months.
After introducing the E-Luna in 2024, Kinetic Green has announced plans of new electric scooters that will hit the Indian market in the next few months. It plans to bring us three new e-scooters that will be quite different from what it has offered thus far.
The first model, claimed to be a stylish family scooter, is set to debut before the 2025 festive season. It will feature a TFT display, IoT connectivity, and run on a digital platform developed with Jio Things.
To be available with multiple battery options and fast-charging technology, Kinetic claims that this vehicle will blend retro aesthetics with modern convenience to cater to diverse Indian consumers.
The claim of retro aesthetics is interesting, as a recently leaked patent from Kinetic Green reveals a scooter with a Kinetic Honda DX-inspired look (pictured below). So, Kinetic Green might be banking on nostalgia to establish itself in the EV scooter market. The company has also collaborated with Italy’s Torino Design to create futuristic scooters with bold styling.
India’s e-scooter market, which saw 1.03 million units sold in 2024-25, is projected to reach ₹40,000 crore by 2030, with penetration rising from 15 per cent to 70 per cent.
Kinetic Green’s 400-dealer network and Pune-based manufacturing facility position it to capitalise on this growth.
The brand’s recent partnerships, including with Tonino Lamborghini for electric golf carts, bolster its expansion plans.
It will be interesting to check out how Kinetic will position the upcoming e-scooter. Will it go up against the cream of the crop, i.e. the Ather Rizta, Bajaj Chetak and TVS iQube, or go up against the budget-friendly options like the Ola S1 X and Ampere e-scooters? We should get some indication on the same soon enough.
