KTM Brazil has opened a R$ 20 million CKD plant in Manaus with a 20,000 annual unit capacity, assembling ten KTM and Husqvarna off-road and adventure models.

KTM Brazil has officially inaugurated its new assembly plant in Manaus, located in the state of Amazonas, co-located alongside Bajaj Auto's existing facility. The dedicated manufacturing site represents a direct investment of approximately R$ 20 million in facilities and equipment, featuring an installed annual production capacity of 20,000 motorcycles.

Operating under a Completely Knocked Down (CKD) assembly model, the plant currently employs 100 direct and indirect staff and marks a major transition to an independent industrial setup following KTM's previous assembly arrangement with Dafra Motos, active since 2016.

During its initial operational phase, the plant targets an assembly volume of 3,500 units by the end of 2026 before progressively scaling output through 2027. Dedicated exclusively to the KTM and Husqvarna brands, the facility produces ten localised models across the motocross, enduro, and adventure motorcycle segments.

The localised competition lineup includes the KTM 250 SX-F and 450 SX-F motocross bikes, along with enduro machines such as the KTM 250 EXC-F, 350 EXC-F 6DAYS, 300 EXC, 300 EXC 6DAYS, Husqvarna FE 350, and TE 300 PRO. Furthermore, local production covers the new KTM 390 Adventure R and 390 Adventure X, priced at R$ 37,990 and R$ 33,990 respectively.

Rakesh Sharma, Joint Managing Director of Bajaj Auto Limited, noted that bringing KTM and Bajaj strengths together co-located in Manaus reinforces their long-term commitment to Brazil. Petra Preining, CFO of KTM AG and Bajaj Mobility AG, stated that local value creation and a flexible production structure will enhance competitiveness and sustainable growth. The plant's launch supports the expansion of the authorised retail network in Brazil from 12 current locations to 30 outlets by 2027.
