LG Energy Solution has joined SDVerse, marking its entry into automotive software marketplaces. The company will offer battery software tools aimed at improving diagnostics, safety, performance and lifecycle management in software-defined vehicles.
LG Energy Solution today announced its entry into SDVerse, becoming the first battery manufacturer to join the automotive industry’s B2B software marketplace. The move highlights the company’s strategic shift beyond battery manufacturing into software and services for next-generation vehicles.
Established in 2024 by General Motors, Magna, and Wipro, SDVerse serves as a digital marketplace that enables automotive companies to discover, compare, and deploy software solutions for software-defined vehicles (SDVs).
Through this collaboration, LG Energy Solution will integrate its battery software capabilities into the SDV ecosystem, offering solutions aimed at enhancing diagnostics, safety, and battery longevity. The company will introduce five core software offerings on the platform: Battery Platform Software, Safety Diagnostic Calibration Tool, Onboard FRISM, Onboard BLiS, and Onboard DASH.
These solutions leverage LG Energy Solution’s battery management system (BMS) expertise to deliver advanced analytics, real-time monitoring, predictive simulations, and machine learning-based diagnostics. Key functionalities include battery health estimation, degradation prediction, safety validation, and optimisation of battery performance under varying operating conditions.
