Kapoor marked his retirement with a reflection on LinkedIn, describing the transition with gratitude.

Bharatendu Kapoor, a long-serving executive who built his career across two of India's most prominent tractor companies, has retired after more than four decades in the corporate sector. Kapoor spent 32.5 years at Mahindra before moving to Tractors and Farm Equipment Ltd (TAFE), where he served for a further 8.5 years. He marked his retirement with a reflection on LinkedIn, describing the transition with gratitude.

He acknowledged colleagues, teams, peers and dealer partners who had supported him over the years, drawing out lessons from his career including the value of continuous learning, the importance of stepping outside one's comfort zone, building relationships grounded in trust and maintaining respect even in disagreement.

"Yesterday marked the end of a 40+ year corporate journey—32.5 years with Mahindra and 8.5 years with TAFE. As I step into superannuation, one overwhelming feeling stays with me—gratitude. I truly believe I have received far more than what I deserved.

"A special thank you to our Chairman Mrs. Mallika Srinivasan for trusting me with an opportunity at a time when I still had something to prove. That belief shaped the course of my journey. Deeply thankful to all my colleagues, teams, peers, and dealer partners—many of whom spoke today, and many who didn’t but have been equally supportive throughout," he wrote on LinkedIn

Kapoor noted that while numbers had been his professional passion, the relationships accumulated across four decades were ultimately the most meaningful part of the journey.

"While numbers were always my passion, what I truly carry forward are the relationships built over the years. On a personal note, none of this would have been possible without Neera, who stood by me through 9 relocations and countless busy years, and my sons, who allowed me the space to grow while I quietly supported their journeys," Kapoor wrote.

Kapoor completed a BTech in Agricultural Engineering from Punjab Agricultural University between 1980 and 1985, and later obtained a postgraduate certificate in marketing management from MICA in December 2017.
