The Vision.SXT could be the next stage for the Global Pik Up concept that was first showcased in 2023.
After teasing the Vision.T and Vision.S concepts, Mahindra Auto has teased a new concept, called the Vision.SXT. It seems to be a more rugged version of the Vision.T that Mahindra teased a few days ago.
Unlike the Vision.T and Vision.S concepts, which had a white and yellow background, the Vision.SXT has an orange background. This covers three of the four colours that were shown in the Freedom_Nu platform teaser that was released on June 26. Expect Mahindra to drop one more teaser with a grey background, completing all the colours of the teasers.
While the Vision.T is expected to be a new version of the Thar.e concept and the Vision.S a new electric Scorpio concept, the Vision.SXT seems to be a new version of the Global Pik Up concept, or even its SUV version.
The teaser of the Vision.SXT shows a similar bonnet shape to the Vision.S, indicating that both are heavily related. What differs, though, is the different colour for the flared wheel arches on the Vision.SXT as well as the chunkier front bumper. Mahindra hasn’t revealed any more angles of the upcoming concept.
All four concept vehicles will likely be based on the Freedom_NU platform, which was the first teaser. The new platform will serve future ICE, EV and even hybrid models from the brand. The new platforms, and even the production versions of these concepts, will be manufactured at Mahindra’s Chakan plant in Pune.
This isn’t the first time Mahindra has unveiled new models and concepts at India’s Independence Day. The trend started with the second-gen Thar in 2020 and has been continuing since. Mahindra reveals all its major models and concepts on August 15 every year. 2020 was the year of the Thar, while 2021 was for the XUV700. In 2022, Mahindra unveiled its new BEV concepts, while 2023 was for the Thar.e and Global Pik Up concepts. Last year, Mahindra launched the Thar Roxx on August 15.
