Mahindra Thar Roxx Launch Tomorrow: Expected Prices

The Mahindra Thar Roxx is set to make its global debut today with a price announcement scheduled for August 15. The five-door version of the Thar is expected to have cosmetic changes, new features, and slight changes to the powertrains. 

Once launched, the Thar Roxx will rival the likes of the Force Gurkha 5-door as well as the Maruti Suzuki Jimny. While the Gurkha is priced at ₹18 lakh*, the Jimny is priced between ₹12.74 - 14.79 lakh*. Furthermore, the three-door Thar is priced between ₹11.35 - 17.20 lakh*. Based on this, the Thar Roxx is expected to be priced between ₹15 - 20 lakh*. 

The Thar Roxx gets a new grille which is now body-coloured, new circular LED headlamps with C-shaped LED DRLs, a redesigned front bumper, a new alloy wheel design, C-pillar-mounted door handles, and new lighting elements in the square taillamps. 

Inside, the Thar will see a majority of the changes. It gets Mahindra’s new 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10.25-inch virtual instrument cluster, the same toggle switches and HVAC controls on the dashboard as the three-door version, a panoramic sunroof and ventilated seats, among others. 

Safety on the Thar Roxx is also said to have improved. It is likely to get six airbags, ESC, hill-hold assist, ABS with EBD, three-point seatbelts with reminders for all seats, ISOFIX anchorages and more. It could also come with a 360-degree camera and level 2 ADAS. 

The Thar Roxx is expected to continue with the same 2.2-litre diesel and 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine as the Thar. However, these are likely to be retuned to produce more power than before. The Thar Roxx is expected to continue to get a rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive configuration.
