Mahindra Thar Roxx ‘VIN 001’ Auction Winner Announced

What do you do when you already own the first-ever Mahindra Thar to be produced? You place the highest bid on the Thar Roxx with ‘VIN 001’ and win the 5-door version. That's exactly what Aakash Minda, Executive Director, Minda Corporation Ltd, did when Mahindra Automotive put the first-ever Thar Roxx up for auction. 

Minda placed a bid of ₹1.31 crore on the first Thar Roxx with ‘VIN 001’. He chose the Nebula Blue colour option for the Thar Roxx AX7L diesel automatic 4x4 variant. Minda also paid ₹1.11 crore for the first-ever 3-door Thar back in 2020. The auction for the Thar Roxx, which was held on September 15-16, saw nearly 11,000 entries. 

The proceeds from the auction for the Thar Roxx will be donated to the Naandi Foundation, one of the four not-for-profit organisations participating in the auction. Furthermore, Mahindra matched the winning bid and doubled the donation. Proceeds from the auction of the Thar in 2020 were donated to the Swades Foundation, and then, too, Mahindra matched the bid and doubled the donation. 

The Thar Roxx was launched in India on August 15, 2024, and is priced between ₹12.99 - 22.49 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The Thar Roxx has been a highly anticipated model from Mahindra and to know how it stacks in the compact SUV space, watch the video below.
