Mahindra Treo EV 3-Wheeler Now Available For Self-Drive Rentals In Sri Lanka

Mahindra Last Mile Mobility has launched its electric Treo 3-wheelers for self-drive rentals in Sri Lanka, enabling tourists to explore the island in an eco-friendly and convenient manner. 

The initiative stems from a strategic partnership between TukTukRental.com, Mahindra's local channel partner Evolution Auto, and Mahindra Group, introducing the Treo and Treo Plus models to the rental fleet.

Announced by Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra on X, the collaboration allows visitors to rent these battery-powered vehicles, which offer a 150 km range on a single charge, quiet operation, and zero emissions, which is ideal for navigating Sri Lanka's scenic routes from beaches to hills. 

"Sri Lankan tourists can now enjoy the convenience of self-driving Mahindra Treos," Mahindra posted, emphasizing the partnership's role in promoting sustainable mobility.

The Treo, reported to be priced affordably for rentals starting at $18 per day, features modern amenities like comfortable seating and easy handling, tailored for urban and rural adventures. Evolution Auto's Managing Director Mohamed Ziyawudeen highlighted the move as "electrifying Sri Lanka's tourism landscape," aligning with global shifts toward green transport.

Mahindra sees broader horizons, with Anand noting the "vast global potential of electric 3-wheelers," even in Europe as city-centre shuttles with futuristic designs. 

He asserted India's dominance in this growing market, positioning Mahindra as a leader in last-mile EV solutions. This expansion builds on Mahindra's EV push, with recent deliveries to Jaffna and plans for further outreach.

The partnership not only boosts tourism but also supports Sri Lanka's sustainability goals. As electric mobility surges, this could pave the way for similar models worldwide.
