Mario Alvisi was leading Royal Enfield’s EV business and played a crucial role in the development of the Flying Flea.

In a big change at Royal Enfield, Mario Alvisi, Chief Growth Officer (EV) has quit the brand. According to the company, Alvisi had put down his papers last month and is currently serving his notice period. The news comes at a time when Royal Enfield is gearing up to showcase the production form of the Royal Enfield Flying Flea C6 at the 2025 EICMA motorcycle show in Italy next month. It’s also reported that he might skip the launch event at EICMA 2025. The Flying Flea is a very important product for the brand as it enters the EV space and it has made huge investments for this EV transition with a separate production line at its manufacturing facility.

Alvisi had joined the company in 2023 and his target was to establish the EV brand and the direction for the company in its electric journey. The Flying Flea project was spearheaded by him and he also played a key role in the development of the Himalayan E electric test bed project. In fact, a couple of months back, Alvisi had posted pics of the Himalayan electric and the Flying Flea prototype undergoing high elevation testing in Leh with colleagues from Royal Enfield. Prior to joining the iconic Indian manufacturer, Alvisi had worked with Alfa Romeo, Abarth and played a key role in the establishment of the Ducati Scrambler family.

Following his exit, the EV team will now report to B. Govindarajan (BGR), CEO of Royal Enfield and Yadvinder Singh Guleria, Chief Commercial Officer. While BGR has been with the company for 3 decades, Guleria was the face for Honda’s India operations. The above move also brings the EV business closer to Royal Enfield’s commercial operations especially given that production of the bike is expected to commence soon. Company officials also added that despite Alvisi’s exit the EV programme is on track and there are no delays in this regard. At the 2025 EICMA show apart from the C6, Royal Enfield is expected to showcase the Flying Flea S6 as well.
