Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. has achieved a significant milestone with its Ignis hatchback, surpassing 280,000 unit sales since its launch in 2017. To commemorate this achievement, the company has introduced a special Radiance Edition and announced a substantial price reduction for the popular hatchback.
The Maruti Ignis Radiance Edition offers a starting price of ₹5.49 lakh, down from ₹5.84 lakh, marking a ₹35,000 price cut. This edition is available across all variants except the mid-spec Delta and provides enhanced features through additional accessories.
For the base-spec Sigma Radiance Edition, Maruti includes all wheel covers, door visors, and chrome body side moulding at an added cost of ₹3,650. Purchased separately, these accessories would total ₹5,320, offering slight savings for bundled buyers. The higher-spec Zeta and Alpha variants with the Radiance Edition are outfitted with seat covers, cushions, door cladding, and door visors, collectively priced at ₹9,500. Individually, these accessories would cost ₹11,9710, making the package a more economical choice.
Under the hood, the Ignis is powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine, delivering 81 bhp and 113 Nm of torque. Buyers have the option of a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT, both of which boast a fuel efficiency of 20.89 kmpl.
Maruti has ensured the Ignis is well-equipped with modern amenities, including a 7-inch touchscreen compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, automatic climate control, height-adjustable driver’s seat, keyless entry, and push-button start/stop. Safety features have not been overlooked, with the Ignis providing dual front airbags, a reversing camera, and an electronic stability programme (ESP) as standard.
