Maruti Suzuki India has recorded its highest-ever monthly sales total of 2,39,646 units in April 2026, with domestic volumes also reaching an all-time high of 1,91,122 units, India's biggest carmaker announced on Friday. Exports for the month stood at 40,054 units, up from 27,911 units in April 2025, while sales to other original equipment manufacturers came in at 8,470 units.
The April 2026 sales total of 2,39,646 units compares with 1,79,791 units in the same month last year reflects a broad-based growth across both domestic and export markets.
Within the passenger vehicle (PV) segment, the mini category, comprising the Alto and S-Presso, saw a sharp rise to 16,066 units from 6,332 units a year earlier. The compact and mid-size segment, led by the Baleno, Swift, Dzire and WagonR, remained the company's largest contributor at 80,659 units, compared with 61,912 units in the same period last year. Total passenger car sales reached 96,725 units.
Utility vehicles (UVs) continued to perform strongly, with the Brezza, Ertiga, Grand Vitara and Fronx collectively helping the segment grow to 77,892 units from 59,022 units. The van segment, led by the Eeco, posted sales of 13,087 units against 11,438 units in April 2025. The Super Carry light commercial vehicle added a further 3,418 units.
Combined domestic sales across passenger vehicles and light commercial vehicles (CVs) reached 1,91,122 units, up from 1,42,053 units in April 2025. When OEM sales are included, total domestic volumes climbed to 1,99,592 units from 1,51,880 units a year ago.
