Maruti Suzuki secured a new personal record with the production of 22.55 lakh units in 2025, the highest-ever production for the automaker in a calendar year. The company revealed that this is the second consecutive year where production has exceeded the 20 lakh units mark. The figure comprises vehicles produced for domestic sales, exports, and OEM supply. The Maruti Suzuki Fronx, Baleno, Swift, Dzire, and Ertiga, were the brand’s top models by volume last year. Notably, the Dzire was the best-selling car in 2025.
Speaking about the production record, Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director & CEO, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said, “This record production is a result of the dedication of our employees and the strong synergy that we share with our supplier partners. A high degree of localization has enabled us to achieve such scale while maintaining world-class quality, highlighting the strength and global competitiveness of India’s automotive manufacturing ecosystem. We remain committed to expanding our manufacturing footprint and strengthening India’s automobile manufacturing capabilities in line with the Government of India’s ‘Make in India’ initiative.”

Maruti manufactures 17 models and over 650 variants across multiple manufacturing facilities in the country. The automaker not only caters to the strong domestic demand, leading the Indian auto landscape, but has also been actively exporting models across the globe. Having begun operations in 1983, the carmaker has not only established state-of-the art manufacturing facilities across Gurugram, Manesar, and Kharkoda in Haryana, but also has the Sanand facility in Gujarat to cater to the growing demand. Maruti is now looking to enhance its production capacity to four million units per annum to meet the rising demand across domestic and international markets.
With respect to sales, Maruti Suzuki had a bull run in 2025 with the rejuvenation of the market, especially the small car segment. The company’s total sales (domestic + exports) stood at 217,854 units in December 2025, registering a hike of 22.3 per cent, when compared to 178,248 units sold in December 2024. Exports stood at 25,739 units last month, a decline of 31.2 per cent year-on-year over 37,419 units in December 2024. Maruti Suzuki concluded the year with its highest-ever total sales of 23,51,139 units, including 395,648 units in exports.
