Mercedes-AMG unveiled the stunning Concept GT XX. This hyper-performance, four-door electric coupe is more than just a design study, but an intention to showcase revolutionary technology and an unrelenting pursuit of blistering performance, all built on the new AMG.EA platform.
The Concept GT XX is powered by a triple-motor setup, utilising cutting-edge axial flux motors developed in collaboration with British specialist Yasa. This innovative powertrain delivers a mind-boggling over 1,341 bhp propelling the concept to a top speed exceeding 360 kmph What truly sets this apart is the remarkable power density and compact packaging of these motors, allowing for a sustained high-performance output previously unthinkable in the EV world.
Beyond raw power, the GT XX highlights an 800-volt battery architecture. Inspired by Formula 1 technology, its advanced cooling system, with oil flowing directly around each of the 3,000 individual cells, enables unparalleled charging speeds. Mercedes-AMG claims the Concept GT XX can add approximately 400 kilometres (248 miles) of range in a mere five minutes using compatible ultra-fast chargers – a feature that could redefine EV usability.
Aesthetically, the Concept GT XX is a striking blend of aggressive athleticism and futuristic minimalism. Its incredibly low drag coefficient of 0.198 is achieved through a sleek, aerodynamic silhouette, active aero elements including moving blades in the 21-inch wheels, and even the absence of a traditional rear window. The iconic AMG Panamericana grille is reimagined with a concave design and integrated auxiliary lights, while the rear boasts six circular LED taillights and an innovative MBUX Fluid Light Panel capable of displaying real-time information.
Inside, the driver-focused cockpit features a minimalist design with exposed technology, carbon-fibre elements, and a racing-inspired steering wheel.
Mercedes-AMG has confirmed that the production version of the GT XX, which will serve as a successor to the current AMG GT 4-Door Coupe, is expected to arrive in 2026.
