The EQE SUV will be the third all-electric offering from Mercedes-Benz in India.

Mercedes-Benz will be launching the EQE electric SUV in India on September 15, 2023. This will be the third all-electric offering from the German automaker in the country. The other two are the EQS electric sedan and the EQB electric SUV. The EQE 5-seater electric SUV was first unveiled to the public back in October 2022, and like the EQS which was unveiled earlier this year, is built on Mercedes-Benz's dedicated electric vehicle architecture (EVA) platform.

All models of the EQE electric SUV sold abroad come with a 90.6kWh lithium-ion battery albeit in different states of tune. The EQE 350+, which is the base variant, comes with a single-motor, rear-wheel drive configuration. Power output figures stand at 290 bhp and 565 Nm of torque. Range for this trim is claimed to be 590 km.

Then there’s the EQE 350 4Matic, which comes with a all-wheel drive system and increased torque figure of 765 Nm and claimed range of 558 km. The EQE 500 4Matic produces 403 bhp and 858 Nm of torque, with a claimed range of 547 km. Both these models get a dual-motor setup.

Mercedes-Benz is also expected to launch the AMG version of the EQE electric SUV. This includes the EQE 43 4Matic and EQE 53 4Matic+. Once again, both these powertrains get a dual-motor setup and an all-wheel drive system. The 43 variant churns out 470 bhp and 858 Nm of torque while the 53 produces 620 bhp and 950 Nm of torque.

There’s a possibility that the EQE electric SUV could come with a ‘Dynamic Plus’ package which can up the ante to 680 bhp and 1000 Nm of peak torque. Visually speaking, the EQE SUV draws heavy inspiration from the EQS but with a more coupe-ish approach. On the inside, the EQE comes equipped with the same kind of ‘Hyperscreen’ seen on other Mercedes-Benz models.

While the EQS electric sedan is priced from Rs 1.59 crore (ex-showroom), the EQB 7-seater electric SUV, on the other hand, is priced from Rs 77.50 lakh (ex-showroom). We expect the Mercedes-Benz EQE electric SUV to be priced from Rs 85 - 90 lakh (approximately).
