Luxury and performance collide as Mercedes-Maybach prepares to introduce the SL Monogram Series to India on March 17. This marks the first time the Maybach badge has graced the iconic SL nameplate. While pricing has yet to be announced, expect it to cost more than the standard Mercedes-AMG SL63, which currently costs around ₹2.5 crore (ex-showroom, India).
Under the hood, the SL Monogram Series is based on the Mercedes-AMG SL63, featuring a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 churning out 577 bhp and 800 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission and 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive, ensuring dynamic handling. However, the 0-100 kmph sprint takes 4.1 seconds, slightly slower than the standard AMG SL63’s 3.6 seconds, thanks to Maybach’s emphasis on comfort over outright speed.
The SL Monogram Series has two dual-tone finishes: Red Ambience (black over red) and White Ambience (black bonnet, white body). It features a chrome-accented, illuminated grille, rose gold details, and 21-inch forged alloys. The bonnet is adorned with Maybach logos and lacquered for a distinct look.
Inside, the SL Monogram Series drapes its cabin in sustainably tanned white Nappa leather, chrome, and stainless-steel accents. A large adjustable touchscreen ensures connectivity, while Maybach’s signature focus on noise insulation and ride comfort sets it apart from its AMG counterpart.
