It is expected to arrive in India under a different name.
JSW MG Motor India is all set to launch its latest EV in the country, and a new teaser gives us a hint of what it could be. Going by the teaser video, the upcoming MG is the MG Cloud EV, rebadged from the Wuling Cloud EV available in China as an electric crossover. When is it coming to India? Well, MG has not yet revealed the timeline for this, but sources tell us to expect a festive season launch of the new MG Cloud EV which would come with a different name.
What if you can experience the comfort of a sedan, and expanse of an SUV at the same time.

Measuring 4295 mm in length, 1850 mm in width and 1658 mm in height, the MG Cloud EV sits on a 2700 mm wheelbase. The suspension setup is tuned with MacPherson at the front and a torsion beam at the rear. Although it receives disc brakes at the front and rear, 18-inch alloy wheels would give you plenty of confidence.
For the heart, the MG Cloud EV will come with a 50.6 kWh battery pack built on a Lithium Ferro Phosphate (LFP) battery that is good enough to develop 134 bhp and 200 Nm, coupled with a 1-speed automatic transmission powering the front wheels thanks to the permanent magnet, synchronous motor. Regarding the charging capabilities, the MG Cloud EV can be juiced up from 20-100 per cent via a slow AC charger in 7 hours, while it does the same via a DC fast charger in 30 minutes. And how much does it travel? The Wuling website for the Cloud EV says it's good enough for 460 km (CLTC).
The dashboard of the India-spec Cloud EV, though mostly covered, reveals a few key details. It appears that this model will feature the same fully digital instrument cluster and large, floating infotainment touchscreen found in the Indonesian version, marketed under the Wuling brand. Notable features include a two-spoke steering wheel with infotainment controls and horizontal slats running the length of the minimalist dashboard, concealing all four AC vents.
A teaser released by MG Motor India today suggests the crossover will include a sunroof. Additionally, the Cloud EV will be equipped with sleek all-LED headlights and an LED light bar above the grille, connecting the headlights. The MG logo on the front also appears to be illuminated.
