Upon launch, the MG Majestor will lock horns with the likes of Toyota Fortuner, Jeep Meridian, MG Gloster, Skoda Kodiaq, and the upcoming Volkswagen Tayron.
JSW MG Motor has confirmed the launch of Majestor in India on 12 February 2026. The D-segment SUV will be the brand’s new flagship offering in the market, sitting on top of the Gloster. First showcased at the Auto Expo last year, the Majestor has been spotted testing on Indian roads on multiple occasions over the past few months.
Based on the same platform as the Gloster, the MG Majestor heavily draws its inspiration from the Maxus D90 sold in China by MG’s parent company SAIC and Saudi Arabia. Besides a restyled exterior, the Majestor is expected to gain some additional features over the Gloster.
While the MG Gloster has arguably the biggest road presence in the seven-seat D-segment SUV space in India, the Majestor surpasses it with its bolder styling. Up front, the vehicle features a large grille with gloss-black accents that enhance its aggressive stance. Flanking the grille are vertically stacked LED headlamps, topped by slim, eyebrow-style LED daytime running lights. The lower portion of the bumper is finished with rugged black cladding and central silver accents, reinforcing the Majestor’s rugged, go-anywhere character.

The side profile is heavily armoured with body cladding on the wheel arches and door sills. The massive wheel arches are filled up by dual-tone 19-inch alloy wheels that look similar to those on the Gloster. In addition, it is equipped with black door handles, black roof rails, connected LED tail-lamps, and a black bumper incorporating a faux silver skid plate, along with exhaust tips positioned on both sides.
The Majestor’s cabin was not revealed at the Auto Expo last year but it is suspected to have a similar layout as that of the Maxus D90. The India-spec Majestor is expected to feature a 12.3-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system, an equally sized digital driver’s display, and a three-spoke steering wheel with a column-mounted drive selector stalk.
Given that the Majestor will likely be slotted above the Gloster in the lineup, it is expected to offer a richer feature set than the later. For context, the Gloster comes loaded with features such as a panoramic sunroof, a 12-speaker audio system, a wireless phone charger, a powered tailgate, and electrically adjustable and heated front seats, three-zone automatic climate control, along with a driver-seat massage function.

In terms of features, Majestor is expected to offer Level 2 ADAS, 6 airbags, electronic stability control, hill hold assist, 360-degree camera and front and rear parking sensors.

Under the hood, the MG Majestor is expected to feature a 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine that dishes out 213 bhp and 479 Nm of peak torque. In Gloster, this engine is paired with an 8-speed torque converter automatic transmission and a four-wheel-drive system. The same combination is likely to be carried forward to the Majestor.
