MG Majestor

The SUV shares its platform and mechanical components with the existing Gloster but features a different exterior design and a completely redesigned interior.

JSW MG Motor India will unveil its new flagship SUV, the MG Majestor, on February 12, 2026. The vehicle was showcased at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo and represents the company's entry into the three-row SUV segment in India. The Majestor will replace the Gloster in the company's product lineup.

The MG Majestor is based on the Maxus D90 platform, which is manufactured and sold in global markets including China and Australia. The SUV shares its platform and mechanical components with the existing Gloster but features a different exterior design and a completely redesigned interior. The vehicle is branded as India's first D-Plus SUV, marking a shift in the company's strategy for the full-size SUV market segment in the country.

The exterior design includes a new front grille with vertical slats, split LED headlamps positioned in the bumper, vertically stacked daytime running lights near the hood line, and connected LED tail lamps that span the width of the rear end. The SUV features plastic cladding on the wheel arches and lower portions of the doors and bumpers to provide a look suited for off-road use. Additional design elements include 19-inch alloy wheels, dual exhaust finishers, running boards, and a chunky skid plate at both ends. The tailgate carries the Majestor badging and the rear features a full-width connected lighting setup.

The interior of the Majestor includes a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, three-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charging, and heated and cooled front seats. The cabin is finished in black upholstery with new colour themes and improved materials. The SUV offers both six and seven-seater configurations with optional captain seats for the second row, allowing for flexible seating arrangements based on customer requirements.

The Majestor is powered by a 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine that produces 213 bhp and 478 Nm of torque. This engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and a four-wheel-drive system with differential locks. The SUV features an All Terrain System with modes for rock, snow, mud, and sand conditions. The company has been conducting off-road testing across challenging terrains to ensure performance standards are met before launch.

Safety features include level two advanced driver assistance systems with adaptive cruise control and lane keeping assist. The SUV also comes with six airbags, electronic stability control, hill start assist, hill descent assist, 360-degree camera, and front and rear parking sensors to help with manoeuvrability.

The MG Majestor will compete directly with the Toyota Fortuner Legender, Jeep Meridian, Nissan X-Trail, and Ford Everest in the Indian market. The MG Gloster will continue to be sold alongside the Majestor. Pricing for the Majestor is expected between ₹ 35-46 lakh.
