MG Motor India, in collaboration with JSW, marked a significant milestone with the delivery of 101 units of its newly launched MG Windsor at MG Jubilant in Bengaluru. The event highlights the market's enthusiastic response to the Windsor, which has already garnered substantial interest, receiving an impressive 15,176 bookings within 24 hours of its launch announcement.
The MG Windsor has been engineered with an aerodynamic design, emphasizing spacious interiors and advanced technology. Aimed at meeting both family and urban commuter needs, the Windsor offers Aero Lounge seats with a reclining capacity of up to 135° and a substantial 604-litre boot space. The vehicle’s Pure EV Platform is built around an IP67-certified 38kWh battery, designed to withstand diverse environmental conditions while providing an official driving range of 332 km on a single charge, according to MG Motor India. The battery’s certification also underscores its resistance to dust and water, enhancing its durability.
Priced from INR 13,49,800 (ex-showroom), MG offers an innovative Battery as a Service (BaaS) option for buyers, starting at a vehicle price of INR 9.99 lakh, with a battery rental rate of ₹3.5 per km. The BaaS program allows customers flexibility by enabling vehicle ownership without outright battery purchase, a key advantage in India’s evolving EV market.
The Windsor features the MG-Jio Innovative Connectivity Platform (ICP), a smart connectivity suite providing over 100 voice-activated AI commands and support for multiple Indian languages. The vehicle is equipped with an expansive 15.6-inch Grandview Touch Display that offers integrated navigation and infotainment functionalities, aiming to improve accessibility and ease of use for drivers and passengers alike. Furthermore, the car includes more than 80 connected features such as real-time navigation, remote vehicle control, and safety alerts, underscoring MG’s focus on in-car technology to enhance user experience.
Four driving modes—Eco+, Eco, Normal, and Sport—enable drivers to select settings that best suit road conditions and driving preferences, with each mode optimized for varying performance and energy efficiency. The Windsor’s 2700 mm wheelbase and Infinity View Glass Roof contribute to a spacious interior, offering an open, comfortable environment for longer journeys.
The MG Windsor is available in three variants: Excite, Exclusive, and Essence. Each variant caters to different customer needs, with a variety of features tailored to budget and preference. Buyers have four colour options to choose from: Starburst Black, Pearl White, Clay Beige, and Turquoise Green.
