Since its debut, the MG Windsor has consistently topped EV sales charts.
JSW MG Motor India has announced a significant sales milestone for its all-electric crossover, the MG Windsor. In just eight months since its launch, the Windsor has surpassed cumulative sales of 27,000 units. To put its performance in context, the Windsor’s closest rival, the Tata Nexon EV, continues to be a major player in the electric SUV space. While Tata Motors does not release variant-wise monthly figures, the Nexon EV averaged around 3,000–3,500 units per month through early 2025. That gives it a likely cumulative sales volume of 24,000–28,000 units during the same eight-month period.
Since its debut, the MG Windsor has consistently topped EV sales charts, outpacing key competitors and capturing the attention of both metro and non-metro buyers. Interestingly, non-metropolitan markets have contributed nearly 48 per cent of total sales — a strong indicator of growing EV acceptance beyond urban centres. However, MG did not disclose the share of the new Pro variant to this total.
The Windsor’s momentum got a further boost in May 2025 with the launch of the Windsor EV PRO variant. This upgraded model, featuring a larger battery pack and new safety and connectivity enhancements, garnered 8,000 bookings within 24 hours.
MG has also invested in a unique value proposition with the Windsor, offering it at a starting Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) price of ₹9.99 lakh, with battery usage charges at ₹3.9/km — a pricing strategy that reduces upfront cost and lowers the entry barrier for EV ownership.
