While it is a mid-spec variant, it slots between the top-spec Essence and Essence Pro variants in terms of price.
Hot on the heels of launching the Windsor EV Pro, JSW MG Motor India has launched another variant of its electric SUV. The Windsor EV Pro gets a new mid-spec Exclusive Pro variant, which is priced at ₹17.25 lakh (ex-showroom, India). With MG’s BaaS model, it is priced at ₹12.24 lakh, with the battery available at ₹4.5 per km. This makes the bigger battery of the Windsor Pro more affordable by ₹85,000.
Despite the Exclusive Pro being a mid-spec variant, it is positioned between the top-spec Essence and Essence Pro variants of the entire Windsor line-up. The Essence is priced at ₹16.15 lakh, while the Essence Pro is priced at ₹18.10 lakh (both ex-showroom, India).
MG Windsor Variants | Price (ex-showroom, India) |
---|---|
Excite | ₹14 lakh |
Exclusive | ₹15.05 lakh |
Essence | ₹16.15 lakh |
Exclusive Pro | ₹17.25 lakh |
Essence Pro | ₹18.10 lakh |
Features on the Exclusive Pro variant include a 15.6-inch infotainment touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, connected car tech and more. However, it doesn’t get ADAS, which is only available on the Essence Pro variant of the MG Windsor, nor does it get a panoramic sunroof. Interestingly, the new colours offered on the Essence Pro – Celadon Blue, Glaze Red and Aurora Silver – aren’t available on the Exclusive Pro as it is only offered with Pearl White, Starburst Black and Turquoise Green. However, the Exclusive Pro still get the same 18-inch alloy wheels as the Essence Pro.
The Exclusive Pro is also available with the larger battery – 52.9 kWh – which gives it a claimed range of 449 km on a full charge. It still has a single electric motor on the front axle producing 134 bhp and 200 Nm.
The MG Windsor EV now targets a wide spectrum of mass-market EVs in India. The smaller battery variants compete with the likes of the Tata Punch EV, Tata Nexon EV and Mahindra XUV 400, while the larger battery variants rival the Tata Curvv EV, Mahindra BE 6 and Hyundai Creta Electric.
