This discount is available as part of MG Motor India’s sixth anniversary celebration.
As a part of MG Motor India’s sixth anniversary celebrations, the brand is offering the ZS EV with a special limited-period discount. MG’s first EV in India can be had with a discount of up to ₹4.44 lakh. The discounts for the ZS EV range between ₹13,000 to ₹4.44 lakh, depending on the variant.
Prices for the ZS EV now start at ₹16.75 lakh* for the Executive variant, and go up to ₹20.50 lakh*. You can see the table below for the full price list as well as the discount available on the MG ZS EV.
ZS EV Variants | New Price | Old Price | Discount |
---|---|---|---|
Executive | ₹16.75 lakh | ₹16.88 lakh | ₹13,000 |
Excite Pro | ₹18.50 lakh | ₹18.98 lakh | ₹48,000 |
Exclusive Plus | ₹19.50 lakh | ₹23.65 lakh | ₹4.15 lakh |
Essence | ₹20.50 lakh | ₹24.94 lakh | ₹4.44 lakh |
With the discount, the ZS EV becomes more affordable, especially the top-end variants. The ZS EV becomes more affordable than its rivals, which include the Hyundai Creta Electric (₹17.99 - 24.38 lakh*), Mahindra BE 6 (₹18.90 - 26.50 lakh*), and Tata Curvv EV (₹17.49 - 21.99 lakh*). Earlier, the ZS EV only had a very few rivals, for a while, it was the only car in its segment too. But with the new models coming in, it becomes difficult for the ZS EV to hold its ground in the market.
Another reason for the massive discount on the ZS EV is the fact that its sales have been sort of cannibalised by the launch of the Windsor EV last year. While the Windsor has been constantly selling in four-digit numbers, the ZS EV barely manages to touch the 1,000 unit sales mark. JSW MG Motor India would also like its oldest EV in the country to do better, but for that, it needs to overhaul the product substantially, as the Windsor offers a better package at the moment.
Both the above-mentioned points are reasons for ZS EV’s massive discounts. While MG says this is a limited-run discount, it could be extended for a longer duration if it helps increase sales for ZS EV.
Rakesh Sen, head of sales, JSW MG Motor India, said, “To commemorate our sixth anniversary in India, we have made the MG ZS EV even more accessible for customers looking to upgrade to a stylish electric SUV. Our other two EVs are already at an accessible price point, and with this special pricing, the ZS EV will also attract customers seeking a premium ride.”
