Minda Corporation, an Indian automotive component manufacturer, has formed a joint venture with Japan-based Toyodenso to produce advanced automotive switches for the Indian market.
The collaboration aims to meet growing demand in India’s automotive sector, focusing on two-wheelers, passenger cars, and other vehicles.
Minda, part of the Spark Minda Group, was founded in 1985 and is a key player in India’s automotive industry. Its product range includes vehicle access systems, electrical distribution, and advanced electronics for various vehicle types.
Toyodenso, established in 1947 and headquartered in Tokyo, is a global manufacturer of automotive and motorcycle components, serving major brands like Honda and Toyota. With over 9,000 employees and facilities worldwide, it brings significant expertise to the partnership.
The new venture, in which Minda Corporation holds a 60% stake, will handle design, development, manufacturing, and marketing of automotive switches.
A new facility will be established in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, with operations expected to start in the second half of the 2026–27 financial year.
The partnership has already secured orders from Indian customers, signalling strong market potential.
This collaboration is claimed to combine Toyodenso’s engineering and technological expertise with Minda Corporation’s robust local manufacturing capabilities and supply chain network.
The venture aligns with India’s push for localised production. it is poised to strengthen the country's automotive ecosystem by delivering high-quality, locally produced components.
