MINI Cooper S, Countryman Electric India Launch Date Announced

BMW India is set to unveil the eighth-generation BMW 5 Series along with two new Mini models on July 24. The much-anticipated launches include the new-gen Mini Cooper S and the Mini Countryman Electric. The latest Mini Cooper, which made its global debut in September last year, will be available in both petrol and electric variants.

On the other hand, the petrol-powered Cooper S features a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo engine delivering 201 bhp, while the Cooper C comes with a 1.5-litre three-cylinder turbo engine producing 154 bhp. For those opting for electric, the Cooper E and Cooper SE trims are equipped with 40.7 kWh and 54.2 kWh battery packs, respectively.

Meanwhile, the Mini Countryman Electric, sharing its platform with the BMW iX1, will be introduced to the Indian market for the first time. This electric SUV is available globally in two variants: E and SE ALL4. Both variants boast a 64.7 kWh battery pack but differ in power output. The E variant has a single electric motor generating 204 bhp and 250 Nm of torque, offering a range of 461 km per charge (WLTP cycle). The SE trim features dual electric motors, producing 313 bhp and 493 Nm of torque, with a driving range of 433 km.

Bookings for these new Mini models have already commenced. Notably, the Countryman Electric will be imported to India as a Completely Built Unit (CBU), marking its debut in the Indian market.
