Mini Countryman C India Launch Tomorrow: What’s New?

Mini is set to expand its premium portfolio in India with the official launch of the 2026 Countryman C tomorrow, 17 June 2026.

Sitting strategically below the high-performance Countryman John Cooper Works (JCW) All4 variant, which is currently retailed at ₹64.90 lakh (ex-showroom), this model will be an accessible alternative to the brand's other cars. Bookings for the premium crossover are already underway nationwide, aiming to capture market share from established luxury compact SUVs like the BMW X1, Audi Q3, and Mercedes-Benz GLA.

The Countryman C marks a shift towards localised assembly at the BMW Group's manufacturing plant in Chennai, a move meant to maximise cost competitiveness in the Indian market. While its overall silhouette echoes the design language of the Countryman Electric, it gains a few ICE-specific styling details. The SUV receives uniquely re-profiled front and rear bumpers alongside a slightly redesigned grille layout. It benefits from body-coloured door handles, matrix LED tail-lamps, and a bespoke champagne-coloured exterior trim package paired with distinct alloy wheels.

To maintain its premium character, the vehicle features a blacked-out finish across the roof, outside rearview mirror (ORVM) housings, and all door pillars. Buyers can choose from five distinct exterior body colours, which include Chilli Red, British Racing Green, Nanuq White, Slate Blue, and Smokey Green.

The interior prioritises modern textures, abandoning traditional chrome and leather elements for a more sustainable approach. The dual-tone cabin features a fabric-finished dashboard paired with premium upholstery and subtle champagne-coloured trim accents. Tech and luxury highlights inside the layout include a signature high-definition circular OLED infotainment touchscreen running Mini Operating System 9.

Drivers also benefit from a clear head-up display (HUD), paddle shifters, a premium audio system, and cruise control. A panoramic sunroof, vertically oriented air-conditioning vents, and physical climate control keys round off the interior updates.

Under the bonnet, the Countryman C is equipped with a 1.5-litre, three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, likely shared with the BMW X1. Mated exclusively to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, this front-wheel-drive setup develops an estimated 136 bhp of power and 230 Nm of peak torque.
