Montra Electric Launches Two New EVIATOR Variants With 32kWh and 50kWh Battery Options

Montra Electric has added two new variants to its EVIATOR electric small commercial vehicle (CV) range, giving fleet operators a broader choice of battery configurations across a single platform for the first time. The EVIATOR 350 (32kWh), priced at ₹14.58 lakh, and the EVIATOR 350L+ (50kWh), priced at ₹16.86 lakh, went on sale across dealership network on Friday. Combined with the existing 40kWh model, buyers can now choose from three battery sizes within the same vehicle platform, a departure from the single-configuration approach the company had previously taken.

The smaller 32kWh variant is aimed at urban last-mile delivery, with a claimed real-world range of up to 140 km on a single charge. Montra Electric says it is intended as a more affordable entry point into the EVIATOR range without sacrificing the platform's 99 per cent uptime guarantee.

The 50kWh model is positioned at the other end of the spectrum, built for intercity routes and more demanding applications including refrigerated transport and municipal services. It carries a certified range of over 300 km and a stated real-world range of more than 200 km.

The company says the expansion was shaped by operational data gathered from more than 600 EVIATOR vehicles that have collectively covered over 65 lakh kilometres in real-world use. That data, according to Montra Electric, revealed a clear split in how operators actually use their vehicles -- some running short, frequent urban routes, others needing sustained performance across longer distances. A single battery size, the company concluded, was an imperfect match for such a varied commercial customer base.

Managing Director Jalaj Gupta framed the launch as part of a wider shift in the company's thinking. "The next phase of EV adoption will not be driven by products alone, but by how intelligently they fit into real-world operations," he said.

"At Montra Electric, we have leveraged over 65 lakh kilometres of fleet data, drawn exclusively from our 600+ EVIATOR vehicles, to understand how different businesses use their vehicles. This has enabled us to move towards a duty-cycle-driven product strategy, delivering complete business solutions where customers can choose configurations that directly improve uptime, efficiency, and return on investment."

Saju Nair, chief executive of the eSCV division, pointed to the competitive gains the expanded range could unlock. "EVIATOR has already set benchmarks in uptime and performance in the eSCV segment," he said. "With the introduction of these new variants, we are expanding the platform to address a wider spectrum of logistics needs, from last-mile efficiency to long-haul consistency. This enables fleet operators to deploy EVs with greater precision, unlock new use cases, and improve overall fleet economics, accelerating the transition to electric mobility," he said.

Montra Electric claims the EVIATOR is now the only electric SCV in India designed around application-specific energy needs, with three distinct battery options under one platform. All dealerships have been provided with comparison data to help customers identify which variant best reduces their total cost of ownership.
