The new Moto G24 Power will go on sale in India from February 7.
Motorola has launched its latest low-cost smartphone, the Moto G24 Power, in India. It is a 4G smartphone and slots into the company’s affordable G-series right below the G34 5G. Its main selling point is its 6000mAh battery, which should help it stand out in this segment of the market. Motorola also claims “hours of power in just minutes of charging”, as this phone supports 30W fast charging. The G24 Power is priced starting at Rs. 8,999 with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, with another variant offering 8GB of RAM and the same amount of storage priced at Rs. 9,999. It will be sold through Flipkart as well as authorised Motorola dealers, starting on February 7.
The Moto G24 Power will be available in a dark Ink Blue and a much lighter Glacier Blue colour. It boasts of a premium design with a “3D acrylic glass” rear panel and contoured camera bulge in the upper-left corner. The body is said to be “IP52 water repellent” which should protect the G24 Power from accidental spills and splashes, but the company does state that this phone isn’t waterproof and isn’t designed to be submerged. This phone is 8.99mm thick and weighs 197g.
Powered by the octa-core MediaTek Helio G85 SoC, the G24 Power promises smooth performance for everyday use. The phone has a 6.56-inch IPS LCD display with a front camera cutout in the top-centre. Peak brightness is rated at 537 nits and the refresh rate can go up to 90Hz. You also get stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, a 3.5mm audio jack, a dedicated microSD card slot for up to 1TB of additional storage space along with two nano-SIMs, and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.
The primary 50-megapixel f/1.8 camera uses quad-pixel binning to improve sharpness and low-light performance, according to Motorola. Video recording tops out at 1080p 30fps. There’s also a secondary 2-megapixel macro camera on the rear. The front camera has a 16-megapixel resolution.
Motorola ships the G24 Power with Android 14 installed and only promises three years of security updates. You get a 33W charger in the box, although the phone charges at up to 30W.
