MotoGP has issued an apology over showing a distorted map of India in one of its

broadcasts of the free practice session. Controversy arose online when several netizens raised concerns about the map displayed during MotoGP's live-streamed practice sessions. The map omitted the union territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.

There were strong reactions on the social media platform ‘X’ (earlier Twitter) with people calling to boycott the event altogether

However, there were many who asked for an explanation for this and MotoGP issued a statement saying, "We'd like to apologise to our fans in India for the map shown earlier as part of the MotoGP broadcast,"

After the apology there was an overall call for getting on with MotoGP in India.

The MotoGP Bharat has been embroiled in controversy, right from issuance of visas for riders to the track being not ready. But the overall reactions coming in from riders is that of happiness, because they love the track and in all the interactions we have had with them, they say that India is prepared to host the MotoGP event.
