The new Citroen C3 Aircross will be made available in 5 and 7 seater options
After unveiling the new generation a couple of months ago, Citroën has finally launched the all-new generation of its C3 Aircross compact SUV. Available in both five and seven-seat options, the new C3 Aircross rides on the same platform as the recent C3 hatchback, allowing Citroën to position it at an attractive price point. However, its dimensions have grown, and the compact SUV now measures 4390 mm long with a wheelbase of 2670 mm.
Citroën claims that the five-seat version provides best-in-class second-row legroom and knee room thanks to the stretched wheelbase. The seven-seat variant adds a third row with two occasional-use seats, a first for this vehicle segment.
Its styling aims for a more muscular and upright SUV look compared to the previous C3 Aircross. Design updates include Citroën's new logo, bold front and rear fascias, squarer wheel arches and over 0.2 m of additional ground clearance.
Citroën will offer the C3 Aircross with a choice of internal combustion, hybrid or full electric powertrains. The hybrid pairs a 136 bhp 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine with an electric motor. The all-electric model uses a 113 bhp motor paired to a 44kWh battery pack with an estimated 300km+ range.
Other tech highlights include the latest Citroën infotainment system with a 10.25-inch touchscreen, head-up display, wireless charging pad and numerous driver assistants like active safety braking and lane-keep assist.
The interior brings Citroën's C-Zen Lounge concept with a horizontal uncluttered dashboard, a small steering wheel and new Advanced Comfort seats with extra padding. The signature Citroen Advanced Comfort suspension with hydraulic bump stops is also standard.
European pricing will start from €27,400 ( around ₹24.55 lakh in India) for the electric C3 Aircross, from €25,500 (around ₹22.85 lakh) for the hybrid and from €19,400 (around ₹17.38 lakh) for petrol-powered models when sales begin later this year. A longer-range 400km+ electric version will also join the lineup later in 2025.
Well, for now, there is no word on whether this car will be launched in India. But given that it's a global design language, there is a high possibility that it will be replicated for our market. There is no confirmation from the company yet, so we wait for more details to come our way
