The new Creta would most likely shift to the company's K3 platform.

The next-generation Hyundai Creta has been spotted undergoing high-altitude testing in the mountains, offering fresh insights into the upcoming midsize SUV ahead of its expected launch in the first half of 2027. A video shared on social media reveals a fully camouflaged test mule negotiating narrow, broken village roads and steep inclines.

Underneath its disguised bodywork, the next-gen Creta will transition to Hyundai Motor Group's K3 platform, which also underpins the Kia Seltos. This structural shift will result in an expanded footprint, making the SUV longer and wider while freeing up additional cabin space for passengers.

Visually, the updated Creta adopts a boxier stance with sharp, sculpted body lines, redesigned alloy wheels, and styling elements inspired by the international-spec Tucson, including pixel-style clear-lens LED tail lamps and a redesigned LED headlight setup.

Inside, the cabin is set to receive a significant technological overhaul. The new system could combine a large central touchscreen infotainment display with a sleek digital instrument panel behind the steering wheel. Cabin features will include a live generative AI assistant, leatherette seat upholstery, powered and ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, automatic climate control, and a wireless phone charger.

Engine options for the upcoming Creta will remain comprehensive. The current 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine (with manual and IVT options), 1.5-litre turbo-diesel engine (with manual and automatic options), and 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine (paired exclusively with a 7-speed DCT) will be carried forward.

Additionally, Hyundai is expected to introduce a 1.5-litre strong-hybrid petrol powertrain for the first time, aimed at offering high fuel efficiency alongside strong performance.
