The Japanese carmaker has assured that the warranty will remain valid for customers using the government-mandated fuel blend.
Nissan Motor India has confirmed that all versions of its Magnite SUV are compatible with E20 ethanol blend fuel and that using the fuel will not void vehicle warranties. The company announced on Monday that both engine options available in the New Nissan Magnite can run on the higher ethanol content fuel without issues.
The 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine has been E20 compliant since August 2024, whilst the naturally aspirated petrol engine gained compatibility in February 2025.
E20 fuel contains 20% ethanol blended with petrol, compared to the current standard of 10% ethanol. The Indian government is promoting the higher blend as part of efforts to reduce emissions and dependence on oil imports.
Nissan said all Magnite vehicles, including existing models, are capable of running on E20 fuel with no significant problems observed during testing.
"Nissan has ensured full compatibility with the Government of India's initiative to shift to E20 fuel as part of our shared commitment to the move to greener fuels and lower emissions," the company said.
The carmaker confirmed that using E20 fuel will not void warranties on New Nissan Magnite vehicles sold after October 2024. The warranty protection also extends to all India-manufactured Nissan vehicles with active warranties.
The Magnite received a five-star safety rating from Global NCAP earlier this year. Nissan recently launched a 10-year warranty programme for the model, which the company describes as a segment first.
Nissan said it would inspect and address any issues that might arise from the transition to E20 fuel during routine service appointments. The company described itself as fully supportive of government initiatives focused on alternative fuels and sustainable mobility solutions.
