While the teaser video do not reveal the name there are design cues that can be traced back to the Nissan Patrol.
Nissan India has officially released a teaser video of its upcoming 7-seater SUV that is slated for launch soon in the country. The Japanese brand had already confirmed this impending launch last month at the brand’s Global Showcase Event in Yokohama. The latest teaser just goes ahead and further asserts the same – making us hopeful that this multi-purpose vehicle should launch by this quarter.
The upcoming SUV will be available as a C-segment model, which means it will have a compact body size. This will pitch it against the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Honda Elevate, etc.
At the time of confirming this product, Nissan had emphasised that the vehicle will feature a muscular style that will be in line with the company’s current design philosophy. Plus, as can be seen from the teaser video, we can also pick a few design cues that can be traced back to the brand’s full-size SUV, the Nissan Patrol. This is particularly noticeable at the front, which is characterised by that L-shaped DRL and the DRL runs across the length of the bonnet. A chrome line is also expected to further reinstate the width of the vehicle as you can see from the image above.
While details about the engine and features are still under wraps, we do know for sure that it will be built right here in India at the Renault-Nissan Alliance JV plant in Chennai. And given how Nissan has set an ambitious target of achieving 1,00,000 units in annual domestic sales and exports from India, we reckon a nice competitive yet affordable price will be a major highlight of this upcoming vehicle.
