Nissan Motor India has announced plans to introduce an all-new 7-seater B-MPV as part of its expanding product lineup. The announcement was made during the company’s Global Product Showcase Event in Yokohama, Japan. Nissan’s latest product offensive aligns with its broader strategy to cater to high-growth segments, including the B-MPV and C-SUV categories. The new 7-seater B-MPV is scheduled for launch in the fiscal year 2025 (FY25) and will be followed by a 5-seater C-SUV in early FY26. With these new additions, Nissan aims to offer four products in India across the B, C, and D-SUV segments by FY26.
The upcoming B-MPV is designed to appeal to value-conscious customers seeking an optimal balance of affordability, quality, and comfort. Nissan has emphasised that the vehicle will feature muscular styling in line with the company’s design philosophy while ensuring passenger comfort across all rows. The B-MPV is expected to strengthen Nissan’s foothold in the multi-purpose vehicle segment, catering to family-oriented buyers.
Nissan's new 5-seater C-SUV, set for an early FY26 launch, is designed to be a segment disruptor. Drawing inspiration from the globally renowned Nissan Patrol, the vehicle will incorporate Nissan’s SUV DNA, offering high ground clearance, robust styling, and premium craftsmanship. The company has stated that the C-SUV will be equipped with advanced technologies and is tailored to handle diverse Indian road conditions, making it a strong contender in the compact SUV market.
To support its growth ambitions, Nissan plans to manufacture both new models at the Renault-Nissan Alliance JV plant in Chennai. This production strategy will ensure that the vehicles meet global standards while catering to both domestic and export markets. Nissan has set an ambitious target of achieving 100,000 units in annual domestic sales and exports from India, reinforcing its long-term commitment to the region.
