The X-Trail is getting a discount of more than ₹20 lakh but not through the official channels.
Nissan India launched the X-Trail at a staggering price of ₹49.92 lakh (ex-showroom, India), and now, it is available at a staggering discount of more than ₹20 lakh. However, there’s a catch.

The discount is not available through Nissan’s official channels, rather it is available through Big Boy Toyz (BBT), a used car dealer and interestingly, the X-Trails listed on BBT’s website are unregistered with 0 km on the odometer.

This makes the X-Trail a wonderful deal, as even in our review, we said the perfect price for the X-Trail is around ₹30 lakh. However, the asking price, which is still the official price for the X-Trail, is too high for the kind of features it offers. No leather seats, small infotainment touchscreen with not-so-great graphics, the lack of decent powertrain options which are available globally, and more, are the reasons it seemed to expensive for what it is.

The X-Trail rivals the likes of the Toyota Fortuner (₹36.33 - 51.94 lakh), Skoda Kodiaq (₹46.89 - 48.69 lakh), Volkswagen Tiguan (₹49 lakh), MG Gloster (₹39.57 - 44.03 lakh), Jeep Meridian (₹24.99 - 38.79 lakh) and Hyundai Tucson (₹29.27 - 36.04 lakh). With the original ex-showroom price, the X-Trail was on the higher side. Now, it seems like a more probable and viable option in the segment, something Nissan should have considered initially.
Commenting on the discount, Nissan said, "The 4th Generation Nissan X-Trail is a globally renowned product, true to Nissan’s design excellence and is an example of our Japanese SUV DNA. Bulk queries and corporate deals for products are a normal industry practice through authorised dealer partners and the details of the same remain confidential."
