Norton Motorcycles has released a teaser of a brand new bike on its social media platform. While the teaser image does not reveal much about the bike, Norton does use the word “resurgence.”
The teaser showcases one of six bikes that the brand is slated to launch in the next three years, each one developed and manufactured by its parent company: TVS. The Hosur-based manufacturer has already invested £200 million (close to ₹2,200 crores) into this iconic British motorcycle brand, and we have finally seen the first glimpse of what is going to come.
The teaser image shows the rear tail light of the bike. The tail section seems to be very sharp and will not look conventional at all. With Royal Enfield dominating proceedings in the retro segment, it made all the more sense for TVS to create a statement in this space with Norton. The latter is known for its exquisite build quality, and retro appeal. However, the bike Norton has teased us with, looks like it might be a sports bike or at best a neo-retro-styled bike.
Mechanically, the upcoming Norton bike is expected to be powered by a sub-500 cc twin-cylinder engine. More details are expected to be revealed at EICMA this year.
