Nothing Integrates ChatGPT into Phone (2) with Latest OS Update

Nothing has announced the integration of ChatGPT into its Phone (2) smartphone as part of its latest operating system update, Nothing OS 2.5.5. This announcement follows the company's recent integration of ChatGPT into its Nothing Ear and Ear (2a) products last week.

The ChatGPT integration in the Phone (2) includes a widget for quick access from the home screen and the ability to copy and paste screenshots and clipboard text into a new conversation within the ChatGPT app. However, users will need to download the ChatGPT app separately on their devices.

Nothing has stated that the ChatGPT integration will also be available for the Nothing Phone (1) and Phone (2a) when the Nothing OS 2.5.5 update is rolled out for these devices later this month.

In addition to the ChatGPT integration, the Nothing OS 2.5.5 update introduces several new features and improvements for the Phone (2). These include an Ultra XDR mode for the camera app, an HDR switch for Photo and Portrait modes, a new Ring mode in the quick settings for sound management, a RAM booster, a new recorder app, and battery widgets.

The update also brings system stability updates, optimisations for the NFC and Wi-Fi stack, tweaks to the volume settings, bug fixes, and performance improvements to enhance the user experience of the Phone (2).

The full changelog for the Nothing OS 2.5.5 update includes the ChatGPT integration features, such as a new gesture option in Nothing X to start voice conversations with ChatGPT for Nothing Ear and Nothing Ear (a), new ChatGPT widgets for access from the home screen, and a button on the screenshot and clipboard pop-up to paste content into a new ChatGPT conversation.

Other improvements and bug fixes in the update include enhanced system stability, NFC functionality, and Wi-Fi connection stability, optimised animations for widget and app openings, improved response speed when setting Bluetooth in Quick Settings, optimised volume settings, and various fixes for flickering issues, widget display problems, and lock screen wallpaper display.

With the integration of ChatGPT and the enhancements brought by the Nothing OS 2.5.5 update, Nothing aims to provide its users with an improved smartphone experience on the Phone (2).
