A prototype of the upcoming Nubia Z50S Pro leaked online revealing a large Sony IMX989 sensor.
Chinese smartphone maker Nubia is the latest to jump on the 1-inch sensor bandwagon, with a prototype of the upcoming Nubia Z50S Pro leaked online revealing a large Sony IMX989 sensor.
The 35mm main camera is expected to be a significant upgrade over the current Z50S Pro's smaller 1/1.149-inch sensor. Nubia will have to engineer additional space to accommodate the larger sensor.
The Sony IMX989 has been seen before on phones like the Xiaomi 13 Pro and Vivo X90 Pro. Its 1-inch size enables vastly improved low-light photography and shallow depth of field effects.
The rest of the Nubia Z50S Pro's specs are already high-end, with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, 6.78-inch 120Hz AMOLED display, and a triple 50MP camera array. Like other Nubia phones, the Z50S Pro is currently only sold in China. The leaked 1-inch sensor variant is also likely to see a China-only launch initially.
