Ola Roadster Electric Bike Production Commences

Ola Electric founder, Bhavish Aggarwal shared on his social media profile that the company started production of its first electric motorcycle. The Ola Roadster electric motorcycle range was launched in August 2024, but the bikes haven't gone on sale yet. The commencement of production indicates that the electric motorcycles could be launched anytime soon. The base Ola Roadster X range is priced between ₹74,999 and ₹99,999 whereas the Ola Roaster electric bike family retails for ₹1,04,999 to 1,39,999. 

The styling of the Ola electric motorcycles is very clean and modern, with minimal body panels and lines giving it a very clean look. The Ola Roadster X is offered with three battery pack options – 2.5kWh, 3.5kWh, and 4.5kWh. The claimed range for the 4.5 kWh battery pack is 200 km. Claimed top speed is 124 kmph with a 11 kW motor The X variant gets a LCD instrument console with features such as turn-by-turn navigation, cruise control, reverse mode, TPMS (tyre pressure monitoring system), geo-fencing and more. The bike employs telescopic fork, twin shock absorbers to handle damping duties and stopping power is provided by a disc/drum brake setup. 

The Ola Roadster on the other hand features a more powerful 13 kW motor and can accelerate from 0-40 kmph in just 2.2 seconds and has a claimed top speed of 126 kmph. There are three battery options - 3.5 kWh, 4.5 kWh, and 6 kWh, the latter providing a claimed range of 248 km. Being the more premium variant, the Ola Roadster features a 7-inch TFT console. The launch of the electric motorcycles comes in the background of the toughest phase of the brand as sales have fallen drastically and Ola is facing lots of legal issues too owing to its poor after sales and quality issues.
