4kWh battery announced along with warranty based offers.
Ola Electric has expanded its S1 X electric scooter affordable lineup with the introduction of a new variant with the largest battery pack yet – a 4 kWh unit. This caters to riders seeking extended range anxiety-free commutes, offering a claimed IDC range of 190 km, nearly identical to the flagship S1 Pro Gen 2.
Priced at ₹1.10 lakh, the new S1 X 4kWh variant sits above the existing 2kWh (₹79,999) and 3kWh (₹89,999) options. While mechanically identical to other S1 X models, it packs an extra 4 kg, tipping the scales at 112 kg. A full charge takes approximately 6 hours and 30 minutes. Despite the larger battery, the claimed top speed remains at 90 kmph, matching the S1 Air and other S1 X variants.
This launch comes alongside significant announcements aimed at bolstering Ola's electric vehicle ecosystem. By April 2024, the company plans to establish 600 service centers across India, significantly expanding its service network. Additionally, Ola Electric intends to increase its fast-charging infrastructure to a staggering 10,000 points by the next quarter, marking a tenfold jump from the current 1,000 stations.
Further sweetening the deal, Ola is offering an 8-year/80,000 km battery warranty as standard with every new S1 e-scooter purchase. Customers can opt for extended warranties, with coverage up to 1 lakh kilometers costing ₹4,999 and coverage up to 1.25 lakh kilometers priced at ₹13,999.
The Ola S1 X 4kWh variant presents a compelling option for riders seeking a balance between affordability and extended range. With deliveries slated for April 2024 alongside the other S1 X variants, it's likely to garner significant interest from those seeking a versatile and practical electric scooter.
