OnePlus is set to introduce the Ace 5 in China this month, with leaks and reports suggesting that the device will be internationally rebranded as the OnePlus 13R and will launch in January. OnePlus has strategically skipped the Ace 4 launch due to cultural considerations surrounding the number four in the handset maker's home turf China.

Official images recently shared by a OnePlus executive provide the first comprehensive look at the upcoming device, as seen on Weibo. The smartphone, as seen in the images, features remarkably minimal bezels, smoothly rounded corners, a centrally positioned selfie camera, and strategically placed control buttons.
The power and volume controls in the purported OnePlus 13R are positioned on the right side, while the alert slider occupies the left.
Other specifications suggest a robust offering in the high-end mid-range segment. The device is expected to incorporate a "1.5K" flat screen with an integrated optical fingerprint scanner, complemented by a durable metal frame.
Performance capabilities are anticipated to be substantial, with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 System on Chip (SoC) driving the device's computational power.
Battery performance appears particularly noteworthy, with a likely 6,200mAh battery supporting 100W wired charging. The camera system is set to include a 50MP primary camera, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP sensor.
Given the international success of previous Ace series models, particularly the Ace 3's global release as the OnePlus 12R, it is likely that the OnePlus Ace 5/OnePlus 13R will stand out as a competitive offering in its segment.
