OnePlus 12 Global Launch Could Happen On January 24

OnePlus has kicked off its global marketing campaign for the upcoming OnePlus 12 flagship smartphone, providing more clues about its launch timeline. While the device will first debut in China on December 5, the company's support pages now indicate a global launch event is planned for January 24, 2024.

The support sites for Europe, the US, and India reveal the marketing campaign promoting the OnePlus 12 will run from November 27 until January 23, the day before the scheduled global launch. OnePlus is also running various giveaways on its regional sites tied to the new device's launch, requiring users to subscribe to updates with a valid email.

Additional details about the specifications of the OnePlus 12 have emerged as well. Louis Jie, chief of OnePlus China operations, confirmed the device will use a 50MP Sony LYT-808 primary camera sensor, a 48MP ultra-wide, and a 64MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. A 13-channel multi-spectral sensor will also enhance the phone's imaging capabilities.

This triple rear camera setup is identical to those found on the OnePlus Open and Oppo Find N3. However, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset powering the OnePlus 12 may allow for improved AI-enhanced camera features over the previous generation.
