The Find X7 Ultra introduces a quad-camera setup, featuring twin periscope cameras.
Oppo has recently announced the global release of the Find X7 Ultra, positioning itself as a strong competitor in the smartphone camera market. This announcement comes in the wake of the release of the Vivo X100 Pro, which has also garnered attention for its camera capabilities. The Find X7 Ultra introduces a quad-camera setup, featuring twin periscope cameras, a notable departure from the conventional inclusion of macro lenses or depth sensors as the fourth camera in similar setups.
Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, the Find X7 Ultra is equipped with the HyperTone Camera system, incorporating the newly introduced Sony LYT-900 sensor. This primary camera sensor has an f/1.8 aperture and Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) with a 23mm focal length. The ultra-wide camera uses the LYT-600 sensor with an f/2.0 aperture.
The device's zoom capabilities are enhanced by the inclusion of an IMX890 sensor, known for its larger size compared to typical smartphone telephoto lenses. This sensor is paired with an f/2.6 aperture and prism OIS. Additionally, the IMX858 lens features an f/4.3 aperture, a 135mm focal length, prism OIS, and supports AI-enhanced 12x zoom.
The Hypertone Image Engine in the Find X7 Ultra focuses on enhancing HDR capabilities in smartphone photography. The device continues its partnership with Hasselblad, featuring the Hasselblad Portrait Mode and introducing a new Master Mode that simulates the Hasselblad C2D 100C mirrorless camera. Manual controls and a future OTA update for RAW Max capture are also part of the phone's camera features.
The Find X7 Ultra maintains a design similar to its predecessor, featuring a dual-tone vegan leather back. It includes a 5,000mAh battery with 100W superVooc fast charging and 50W wireless charging capabilities. The phone boasts a 6.82-inch AMOLED 120Hz QHD display, with peak brightness levels suitable for HDR content. It also offers rainwater touch functionality and IP68 water and dust resistance.
Currently, the Find X7 Ultra is available only in China, with prices set at 5999 yuan for the 12GB RAM / 256GB model and 6999 yuan for the 16GB RAM / 512GB variant. The phone is scheduled to be launched on January 12. A special edition model with satellite calling features is expected to be released in March.
