Google's upcoming Pixel 9a is likely to debut next month, with a new hands-on video giving an early look at the device's design. The leaked footage reveals several key details about the "affordable" Pixel phone.
User Shane Craig recently posted on Threads what appears to be a hands-on video of the Pixel 9a, showcasing the device's design elements.
The video shows a matte black (likely marketed as "Obsidian") model with a plastic back panel. The frame appears to be aluminium with visible antenna lines.
Notable design changes include a small, pill-shaped camera module that sits flush with the phone's body. The horizontally aligned camera arrangement is positioned slightly left of centre with an LED flash to the right of the sensors -- a significant departure from previous Pixel A-series designs.
The Google logo is visible on the back panel, in typical fashion.
While the video doesn't reveal the display of the purported Pixel 9a, previous leaks suggest the device will feature symmetrical bezels and a hole-punch cutout.
The device may become available for pre-order starting March 19, with general sales beginning March 26. Pricing is expected to start at $499 (approximately Rs 42,000) for the 128GB storage variant.
According to earlier leaks, the Pixel 9a will reportedly be powered by a Tensor G4 processor and feature 6.3-inch Actua display with 2,700 nits of peak brightness, Gorilla Glass 3 protection, 8GB RAM and 256GB of internal storage along with IP68 dust and water resistance rating.
Meanwhile, Dixon Technologies India, the assembler of Google Pixel smartphones, expects to more than double its revenue in the current fiscal year, according to a senior executive who spoke with news agency Reuters.
