Jaguar Land Rover has revealed the price of the latest iteration of top-of-the-line Range Rover models which includes the Range Rover Sport SV and Range Rover Sport Autobiography PHEV model. The former is priced from Rs. 2.80 crore, and the latter is priced from Rs. 2.11 crore (both ex-showroom prices). Deliveries for both models are expected to commence in six to eight months. The SV moniker is accredited to top-spec models, thereby, the newly launched Range Rover Sport SV will sit on top of the Range Rover Sport which was launched in India last year.
The Range Rover Sport SV is characterised by a subtly different body design. These include a more aggressive front bumper with larger air vents, dual-twin exhausts, and wider front and rear tracks, which have helped give the SUV a more commanding stance.
Under the hood of the Range Rover Sport SV is the BMW-sourced 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 engine that produces 626bhp and 800Nm of torque. This engine is paired to an 8-speed gearbox which sends the power to all four wheels (therefore AWD is standard).
As for the calmer PHEV Range Rover Sport Autobiography Edition, it is powered by the 3.0-litre 6-cylinder engine paired with a 38.2kWh battery pack. The combined power output of this powertrain is rated at 455bhp and 660Nm of torque. The 8-speed gearbox does duties here as well, and AWD is standard.
Land Rover claims that the Range Rover Sport SV can accelerate from 0-100km/h in just 3.8 seconds, and reach a top speed of 290kmph. The plug-in-hybrid Range Rover Autobiography Edition on the other hand has a claimed top speed of 225 kmph and accelerates from a standstill to 100kmph in just 5.5 seconds. Given that it is a plug-in hybrid, the RR Sport Autobiography edition has an electric-only range of 123 km (as per WLTP cycle). The battery can be charged fully using a 7kW AC charger.
