Range Rover SV Black, an all-black premium variant of the popular luxury SUV, has made its debut globally.
Range Rover unveiled its new SV Black variant at Design Miami, showcasing it through an installation called ‘Dipped in Black’. This model, part of the flagship SV lineup, features an all-black exterior and interior, focusing on refined design and craftsmanship.
The vehicle was presented in a space inspired by Mies van der Rohe’s Seagram building, reflecting principles of minimalism and elegance.
The Range Rover SV Black sports a Gloss Black grille with matching bonnet lettering and a dark gloss oval surround. Its 23-inch alloy wheels, also in Gloss Black, are paired with black brake calipers featuring subtle branding.
At the rear, a black ceramic SV roundel signifies the model’s exclusive craftsmanship. The exterior design aims to highlight the visual impact of black through precise detailing and surface finishes.
Inside, the cabin uses near Aniline Ebony leather with graduated rectangle perforations and unique stitching on the seats. Single-panel seat covers reduce visible seams for a smoother look. Black birch veneers and a satin black ceramic gear shifter add tactile elements, while Moonlight Chrome accents lend a subdued, polished finish. The interior layout remains consistent with the SV lineup’s focus on luxury and comfort.
A key feature of this variant is the Sensory Floor, an extension of Range Rover’s Body and Soul Seat technology. This system, standard on the SV Black, integrates haptic feedback through floor mats and seats, creating an immersive audio experience.
At the event, a soundscape by Father, a music design studio, complemented this feature, while a custom scent by Aeir enhanced the installation’s sensory appeal. The display also included curated design objects from various galleries, each highlighting black’s role in modernist aesthetics.
The SV Black is positioned as a premium offering, though pricing and availability details have not been disclosed. This new variant highlights Land Rover’s effort to blend automotive design with broader artistic expressions.
