The Volvo S90 sold here will in all probability be replaced by the new facelift S90.
The 2025 Volvo S90 has undergone a significant update unlike the previous minor refresh. This is the second facelift of the luxury sedan since it was launched in 2016. The updated S90 will be available for bookings for customers in China beginning this summer. Its availability in other regions, which will also include India, will follow by late 2025 or early 2026.
The refreshed S90's appearance now aligns with Volvo's latest models like the newly launched XC90 SUV. The front features the brand's distinctive headlights with Thor's Hammer-styled daytime running lights that now extend to meet the grille. The grille design has also become more prominent with different angular lines on each side of the Volvo emblem. While the Volvo sedan’s overall profile remains largely unchanged, it now rides on new diamond-cut alloy wheels. At the rear, the S90 boasts completely redesigned tail lights that echo the styling elements of the headlights.

Inside, the 2025 Volvo S90's cabin layout remains mostly familiar, however, there’s a larger 11.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system on the dashboard now replacing the previous 9-inch display. This updated system supports over-the-air software updates. Volvo also claims the cabin benefits from enhanced sound insulation.
The Swedish brand has announced two powertrain options for the sedan: a plug-in hybrid and a mild-hybrid four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine. Though complete technical specifications haven't been released, power figures are expected to remain similar to the current model. The plug-in hybrid version will offer approximately 80 kilometres of all-electric range per charge under WLTP testing conditions.
Volvo currently sells the previous version of the S90 sedan in India at ₹68.25 lakh (ex-showroom). The sedan competes with the BMW 5-Series, Mercedes-Benz E-Class and the Audi A6.
