Based on the Renault Group Modular Platform (RGMP), the Renault Bridger will be available in petrol and fully electric versions in India.
Renault has confirmed that the Renault Bridger Concept will go into production for the India market, marking a new phase of its product strategy on the RGMP platform. The company has announced that the Bridger will be launched in India, likely in 2027.
The Bridger is based on the Renault Group Modular Platform (RGMP), a modular architecture developed for markets such as India and designed to support internal combustion, hybrid, and electric powertrains. The same platform underpins the latest Duster for India and will form the base for several new Renault models over the coming years.

Renault has already shown the Bridger Concept as a sub-4-metre SUV for India and export markets, with production planned out of its Chennai facility before sales in other countries. The production Bridger for India will use RGMP with packaging that can accommodate petrol and fully electric versions.
For India, Renault has stated that the Bridger will be its first fully electric offering under the Renault brand in this market, though the model will initially launch with a 1.2-litre petrol engine. The Bridger will be one of seven planned launches in India by 2030.
As part of its global futuREady strategy, Renault has highlighted India as a key hub for new platforms and models, including vehicles developed on RGMP and exported to international markets. The Bridger Concept sits within this plan as an India-developed SUV that will start in the domestic market and then move to other regions.
The Bridger announcement also adds to Renault’s broader roadmap of multi-energy vehicles, with RGMP positioned as the base for petrol, hybrid and battery-electric options in the same family of models. This places the upcoming Bridger as a core part of Renault’s EV and SUV strategy for India.
