Renault Chairman Senard Will Not Seek New Term, Exit Set for 2027

Renault Group's chairman Jean-Dominique Senard will step down when his current term expires in spring 2027, a source familiar with the matter was quoted as saying by news agency Reuters. The 73-year-old will remain in post until the automaker's annual general meeting of shareholders, typically held in April or May of that year, the source added, confirming an earlier report by French financial publication La Tribune. Senard, a former senior executive at tyre manufacturer Michelin, has led Renault's board since 2019.

Meanwhile, the French carmaker's Indian arm Renault India delivered its strongest monthly performance in recent past in March 2026, dispatching 5,046 units to domestic dealers which is a 77 per cent increase on the same month a year earlier. The result was the brand's best monthly figure in several quarters, driven in part by the first deliveries of the revived Duster SUV alongside continued demand for its Kiger and Triber models.

The Kiger and Triber together accounted for 63 per cent of March volumes, underlining their importance to the brand's Indian lineup. March dispatches also represented a considerable improvement on February's 3,495 units, extending a run of positive monthly results that included a 33.6 per cent year-on-year rise in January.

For the full financial year 2025–26, Renault India closed with domestic sales of 42,018 units, up 11 per cent from the 37,900 units recorded in FY25.
