The Kiger facelift will get Renault’s new 2D logo and a slew of cosmetic changes.
After a very long lull period of just giving its cars some minor updates, Renault India is now on a spree of launching new as well as facelifted models. The first in this series was the Triber facelift, and now it will be the Kiger facelift, set to launch in India on August 24.
Like the Triber, the Kiger will also feature the brand’s new 2D logo and a slew of cosmetic changes. It could get a new grille, new headlamps and taillamps as well as new bumpers and alloy wheels. It could also get new colour options like the Triber, as is also evident in the teaser.
Expect changes inside as well, in terms of new materials and colours. However, it seems unlikely that the Kiger could get new features since the Triber also doesn’t really get new features. Expect it to come with features like an 8-inch touchscreen, a virtual cluster, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay,a wireless charger, and more.
But don’t expect changes in the powertrain side as it will come with a 1.0-litre petrol and a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine. Both engines get a 5-speed manual and while the petrol comes with a 5-speed AMT, the turbo-petrol gets a CVT.
The Kiger shares its platform with the Magnite, which also got a facelift late last year. Other rivals include the Tata Punch, Hyundai Exter, Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Maruti Suzuki Fronx, Toyota Taisor, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet and Skoda Kylaq.
