In 2023, for the first time, Apple shifted to a titanium frame with the iPhone 15 Pro series.
Reports indicate that Apple plans to introduce its iPhone 16 Pro models in new colours, including space black and rose, while potentially discontinuing the blue titanium option. This news comes shortly after Apple's announcement of WWDC 24, where the company is expected to showcase its advancements in generative AI.
Sources suggest that the iPhone 16 Pro lineup will include the new space black and rose colours alongside the existing white and titan grey options. The space black colour is expected to resemble the shade featured on the iPhone 14 Pro models, while the white colour may incorporate a silver-like appearance similar to the iPhone 14 Pro.
This information comes from the same source that correctly predicted the launch of the purple iPhone 14 Pro models. However, these reports contradict earlier rumours that suggested the new colours would be called desert titanium and titanium grey. It is possible that these names could be the official designations for the new colour options.
In addition to the colour changes, the iPhone 16 Pro models are expected to feature upgraded camera systems and the new A18 Pro chipset, which is rumoured to focus on on-device generative AI capabilities, reflecting Apple's increasing interest in artificial intelligence.
As Apple prepares to unveil the iPhone 16 Pro models, there is a lot of spotlight on the company which is facing multiple anti trust investigations by the DOJ in the US and the European Commission. With WWDC 24 approaching, Apple seems ready to showcase both design updates and technological advancements, further strengthening its position in the smartphone market.
